DFL Duluth mayor ‘Frau’ Larson proposes new sales tax to ‘fix streets’ – NEVER ENOUGH

Exactly what streets? Just another in a long history of DFL Duluth bait and switch as the money is going to the downtown Superior Street project. Just like all those years of state street aid funds that was used for the sky walk system.

FLASHBACK: Where did your so-called street monies from the $80 MILLION of  Community Investment Trust Fund from the Fond Du Lac Casino monies go?

According to a Northland Newscenter story by Barbara Reyelts:

$32,272,407 towards streets, $25,409,336 to general city expenses such as employees, $11,200,000 to employee-retiree benefits, thus leaving $11,116,257 plus interest earned as the probable Community Investment Trust Fund balance.

In other words, $47,725,593 went to all those government unions city employees, not the streets!

Anyone asking for a detailed plan including exactly what streets and when?

This is another in a long history of DFL Duluth bait and switch as the money is going to the downtown Superior Street project and city employees.  Just like all those years of state street aid funds that was used for the skywalk system and the Community Investment Trust $47 MILLION going to city employees, not the streets.

Yet the Mayor has found close to a million bucks for solar power? Spirit MT has it’s hands out again for $$$ for their failing bike trails. $1800 per mile every year in maintenance for the bike trails being built.
Wages and benefits were not even discussed…..
Anyone been up Central Entrance? Pretty empty.
We are witnessing the death of Duluth.

Bryce, the $80 million was to be used for new streets done by trades people working for contracting companies, not city workers.
